Grewia tenax for Sustainable Agroforestry Farming in Saline Soils of Khartoum State of Sudan

Intercropping of cow pea (Vigna unguiculata) with multipurpose tree in terms Grewia tenax was carried out under saline soils south Khartoum State Sudan. The objectives were to investigate the performance trees sub-irrigation regime as well find most agro forestry system suitable for soil. experiment during period March November 2017 completely randomized block design 3 replicates. treatments that fixed at spacing 4x4 m versus crop which sown one and 1.5 apart from trunk 25 cm 50 inter intra rows spacings besides sole controls. Soil samples taken depths 0-10 cm, 10-30 30-60 60-100 soil profile 1x1 depth its chemical physical properties analyzed.
 parameters measured height, collar diameter crown diameter. While determined straw weight yield per hectare land equivalent ratio. data revealed that; pH, EC ds/m, CaCo3, SAR ESP increased increasing , while other Nitrogen content Organic carbon C/N ratio did not differ respect layers. Meanwhile total average growth means higher intercropping than trees, similarly weight. Cow between intercropped plots control. Partial LER advantageous particularly GS1 indicates superiority mono-cropping this
